Dan Tattersall currently serves as an Inspector for Audit Quality Review at the Financial Reporting Council, a position held since January 2024. Prior to this role, Dan worked as a Senior Audit Manager at Mazars from September 2012 to January 2024. Dan's earlier experience includes serving as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Blizard Institute of Cell and Molecular Science, Queen Mary, University of London, from January 2006 to May 2012, and as a PhD Student at the University of Cambridge from October 2001 to June 2005. Dan holds an ACA qualification from ICAEW (2012-2015), a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Biology from the University of Cambridge (2001-2005), and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Applied Biology from the University of Bath (1997-2001).

Financial Reporting Council
The FRC is the UK's independent regulator serving the public interest by setting high standards of corporate governance, reporting and audit and by holding to account those responsible for delivering them. We set the UK Corporate Governance and Stewardship Codes as well as UK standards for accounting, auditing and actuarial work. We represent UK interests in international standard-setting. We also monitor and take action to promote the quality of corporate reporting and auditing. We operate independent disciplinary arrangements for accountants and actuaries; and oversee the regulatory activities of the accountancy and actuarial professional bodies.
