Julia Walsh is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in audit and risk management. Currently, Julia serves as the Head of Audit Quality Review Resources and Capabilities at the Financial Reporting Council since April 2015, previously holding the position of Senior IT Audit Inspector. Prior to this role, Julia took a career break while working as a Risk and Control professional from January 2013 to April 2015. Julia's career includes significant tenure at Ernst & Young from 1985 to 2012, where roles ranged from Trainee Accountant to Account Director. Julia holds a Master of Arts (MA) in Mathematics from the University of Oxford, awarded in 1985.

Financial Reporting Council
The FRC is the UK's independent regulator serving the public interest by setting high standards of corporate governance, reporting and audit and by holding to account those responsible for delivering them. We set the UK Corporate Governance and Stewardship Codes as well as UK standards for accounting, auditing and actuarial work. We represent UK interests in international standard-setting. We also monitor and take action to promote the quality of corporate reporting and auditing. We operate independent disciplinary arrangements for accountants and actuaries; and oversee the regulatory activities of the accountancy and actuarial professional bodies.
