Sonya Patel

Sonya Patel is a highly experienced finance professional with a strong background in regulatory standards and financial accounting. Currently serving as Chief of Staff for Regulatory Standards at the Financial Reporting Council since July 2022, Sonya previously held the position of Financial Accountant and Head of Accounts Receivable at the Competition and Markets Authority from August 2019 to June 2022. Sonya also worked as a Financial Accountant at LendInvest for a brief period in 2019 and gained valuable experience at KPMG from September 2013 to February 2019, advancing from Audit Associate to Assistant Manager. Sonya holds a Chartered Accountant designation from ICAS and a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Birmingham. Education was completed at Watford Grammar School For Girls.
