Costume Installation Technician at The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco

Abra Berman is an experienced costume designer and technician with a diverse background in theatrical and museum costume production. Currently serving as a Costume Installation Technician at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco since February 2022, Abra has held various roles including Costume Designer for the Marin Shakespeare Company, West Bay Opera, San Jose Stage, and SF Playhouse, contributing to notable productions such as "Romeo and Juliet," "Aida," and "Into the Woods." Additionally, Abra has served as Theatre Faculty at City College of San Francisco, teaching costume design and makeup, and previously as Fashion Design Faculty at The Art Institute of California. With an MFA in Theatre Costume from UCLA and a Specialized BFA in Fashion Design and Merchandising from the Louise Salinger Academy of Fashion, Abra also specializes in costume installations for museums, having worked with prestigious institutions like the De Young Museum and the Museum of Performance and Design.
