Director Of Foundation And Legacy Giving at The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco

Sara Criswell, CFRE, currently serves as Director of Foundation and Government Giving at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco since January 2024. Previously, Sara held various roles at the California Academy of Sciences from August 2018 to December 2023, including Associate Director of Foundation & Government Grants and Senior Foundation Giving Officer. Earlier experience includes the position of Institutional Giving Officer at Yosemite Conservancy and roles at HandsOn Bay Area coordinating large-scale volunteer projects. Sara also worked as an Exhibits Registrar at SFO Museum and began a career in development at Yosemite Conservancy. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Studies from UC Santa Barbara, a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Classical Languages from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Arts in Museum Studies from San Francisco State University.
