Roger Germann

President & CEO at The Florida Aquarium

Roger Germann is the current President & CEO of The Florida Aquarium. Roger has held this position since July 2016. Prior to this, they were the Executive Vice President at John G. Shedd Aquarium from January 2000 to July 2016. In this role, they were responsible for a $57 million business operation and worked with the Board, CEO, and executive team on developing and implementing the Aquarium's annual and long-range strategic plans. Roger also oversaw divisions responsible for integrated communications and branding strategies, Great Lakes conservation and education, sustainable practices, and government, regulatory and external affairs. In addition, they led and/or supported fundraising efforts, animal acquisitions, policy development, and risk assessment. Roger has also represented the Aquarium with businesses, community groups, philanthropic organizations, conservation groups, sustainability groups, government officials, media outlets, and professional associations.

Germann began their career in 1994 as the Assistant Press Secretary and Television Coordinator for the Illinois House of Representatives. Roger then went on to become the Principal & Chief Strategist at Four Lions Strategies in 2017. From August 2016 to December 2016, they served as an Executive Consultant.

Roger Germann holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Illinois Chicago and an Associate of Arts (AA) in Communication, General from Moraine Valley Community College.
