Senior Vice President Of Community Engagement And Social Responsibility at The Florida Aquarium

Tony Rokita joined The Florida Aquarium in August 2022, as the newly-created Senior Vice President of Community Engagement & Social Responsibility. In his role, Tony will work collaboratively across all departments to advance The Florida Aquarium’s (TFA) organizational and departmental goals – from saving wildlife and wild places to expanding TFA’s learning impact and engaging our diverse community. He will offer support in career recruitment initiatives as well. As a member of the executive team, Tony’s thought leadership will play an important role in developing and implementing The Florida Aquarium’s strategic plan and organizational goals. Equally as important, he will lend his guidance on complex societal issues and serve as the voice of The Florida Aquarium.

Tony comes to The Florida Aquarium from the Chicago Bulls organization, where he worked in various roles for 32 seasons. As the department lead of the Alumni Relations, Community Relations and Player Program departments, Tony is a pioneer in diversity, equity and inclusion and social responsibility. He was the first to develop impactful programs that are now being emulated by the NBA League, NBA teams and other professional sports organizations. Tony was the recipient of the NBA’s ‘Values of the Game’ Award. Under his leadership, the Chicago Bulls Social Responsibility team was awarded the first-ever ESPN ‘Humanitarian Team of the Year’ Award.

Tony’s interest include traveling, exploring nature and playing tennis. He’s a long-time Trekkie, who lives in Tampa with his beloved canine companion, a Havanese named Louie.
