Brian Underhill

Chief Legislstive Analyst at The Florida Senate

Brian Underhill has a strong background in legislative analysis and policy evaluation. Brian currently holds the position of Chief Legislative Analyst at The Florida Senate since January 2019. Prior to this, they served as the Director of State Scholarships and Grants at the Florida Department of Education from October 2013 to December 2018. Brian also worked at OPPAGA, a department of the Florida Legislature, where they held the roles of Chief Legislative Analyst and Senior Policy Analyst. In these positions, they conducted evaluations of government programs and services to improve their performance and efficiency. Brian also had responsibilities such as data management, survey administration, data analysis, contract management, and presentation preparation. Brian is a highly experienced professional with a track record in policy analysis and program evaluation.

Brian Underhill earned a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2001 to 2003. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science from Mercer University, where they studied from 1992 to 1996.
