Dr. Barbara Sharief

Dr. Barbara Sharief currently serves as the Florida State Senator for District 35, holding the position of Vice Chairman on the Banking and Insurance Committee and participating in several committees, including Appropriations and Military and Veterans Affairs. With over a decade of experience representing Miramar and Pembroke Pines, Dr. Sharief has also held the role of Broward County Commissioner for District 8 and served as Mayor of the Broward County Commission, focusing on policy development and economic growth. As the President and CEO of Dr. Barbara Sharief DNP Inc., the healthcare business specializes in pediatric care, and Dr. Sharief previously managed South Florida Pediatric Homecare Inc. and a large national home health care company. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Wilkes University and multiple degrees from Florida International University and other institutions, highlighting a strong foundation in nursing and healthcare administration.
