Diogo M. da Fonseca

Diogo M. da Fonseca, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Project Research Scientist at The Francis Crick Institute, focusing on the interplay between Toxoplasma virulence effectors and the immune response during infection, aiming to inform novel treatment strategies for toxoplasmosis. Previously, as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Queen's University Belfast, Diogo applied expertise in cell therapy research and worked on the mechanisms of IL-27 inhibition. Diogo completed a PhD in Immunology at Cardiff University, researching pathogen-host interactions in fungal infections, and holds an MSc in Biomedical Research from Universidade de Coimbra and a BSc in Biology from Universidade de Aveiro.
