Gerald L. Walden Jr.

Gerald L. Walden Jr. possesses extensive legal and managerial experience, currently serving as Group VP - General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at The Fresh Market since May 2004, with previous roles including Vice President - Deputy General Counsel & Head of Diversity and Interim Head of Legal. Gerald also held the position of Director of Externships at North Carolina Central University School of Law from January 2011 to August 2019, where oversight of the Pathways to Practice course was provided, along with student guidance on career development. Prior judicial experience includes serving as a Judicial Law Clerk for the North Carolina Court of Appeals, where over 150 judicial opinions were drafted. An earlier role as Manufacturing Engineer/Production Supervisor at Siemens Automotive involved enhancing production efficiency and managing a large team. Gerald holds an M.B.A. from Elon University and a JD from North Carolina Central University School of Law, along with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
