Laurens Koning

Laurens Koning has had an extensive work experience in the field of testing and consulting.

Laurens started their career at Ministerie van Justitie (DJI) in 2008 as a Test Engineer. Laurens then moved on to Logica in 2004, where they worked as a Test Engineer and Test Consultant, specializing in setting up test automation processes. In 2009, they joined CGI as a Test Consultant and Test Engineer for Nationale Nederlanden (NNCC), focusing on performing functional acceptance tests for the Fundation application.

In 2011, Laurens joined The Future Group as a Scrum/Agile Tester at DTG, involved in developing a Customer-contact-portal. Laurens also worked at PinkRoccade Local Government - GAAS as a Scrum/Agile Tester from 2012 to 2015, contributing to various software projects.

In 2016, they had a role as a Bi/DWH Testconsultant at Rabobank International under the LICWID EPS program, focusing on automated testing, test process improvement, and data quality. In 2017, they became a Senior Test Engineer at ICTU/Rijkswaterstaat and a Test Engineer and Test Consultant at The Future Group.

Currently, Laurens works at The Future Group as an Agile Test Engineer and Scrum Master for Rijkswaterstaat/DSO. Their responsibilities include supporting the development of a firm digital platform for the activation of the new 'Omgevingswet' in 2021, which aims to be accessible to every citizen in the Netherlands.

Laurens Koning completed their Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design from De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences and Haagse Hogeschool Den Haag from 2000 to 2004. Their field of study encompassed both Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services. In addition to their formal education, Laurens has obtained several certifications. These include a Professional Scrum Master™ II (PSM II) certification from Scrum.org in March 2023, a Specification by Example workshop certification from WannaFlex in October 2017, and an ISTQB Foundation certification from the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB).
