Tom Gildred is a seasoned professional with extensive leadership experience across various industries. Currently serving on the Sharp Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees since September 2019 and as Chairman of The Gildred Companies since July 2018, Tom has also held the role of U.S. National Judge for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Program from January 2021 to January 2024. With a strong entrepreneurial background, Tom founded and served as Chairman of FMT Consultants until May 2023 and was the CEO and Founder of Emerald Textiles, LLC from 2010 to July 2018. Tom began their career as an accountant at Ernst & Young from August 1988 to September 1993. Tom holds a degree from San Diego State University.

The Gildred Companies was founded in 1927 and has a legacy of developing, investing, and operating commercial real estate in Southern California for nearly 100 years. Beginning with the development, construction and operation of the landmark San Diego Fox Theater Building, now Copley Symphony Hall and Symphony Towers, The Gildred Companies has a legacy in San Diego of nearly 100 years.
