Alma Nazeraj is a Controller at The Gillen Brewer School since May 2021. Prior to that, Alma served as a Finance Manager at New Destiny Housing Corporation from July 2009 to April 2021. Alma's professional experience also includes working as an Auditor at Marcum LLP in January 2009. Alma holds a Master's degree in Accounting from St. John's University, where Alma also obtained their Bachelor's degree in the same field.

The Gillen Brewer School
Gillen Brewer School (GBS) is a family-oriented, 12-month, special education program for children ages pre-K - 8th grade who have a wide variety of language-based and non-verbal learning disabilities. We provide an integrated, developmentally appropriate, academic-therapeutic program that includes speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, counseling, and social groups. Our curriculum is enriched with robust music, art, science, technology, and movement programs. Learning and growing in a secure and nurturing environment, our students develop the skills necessary to overcome challenges. We work closely with their families to instill self-confidence and build a strong foundation for lifelong learning and independence. GBS is accredited by the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS). We serve students from New York City’s five boroughs and surrounding areas. GBS provides an excellently trained staff, a low student-to-teacher-ratio, a team-centered approach, and a well-honed Family Program that is the cornerstone of the organization’s mission and contributes to the sense of community.
