Sandra Irbe is an experienced professional with a strong background in global health and international relations. Currently serving as a Senior Fund Portfolio Manager and Senior Advisor at The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria since June 2003, Sandra has played a pivotal role in advising the Chair of the Board and overseeing resilient and sustainable health systems. Previous experience includes serving as Attaché at the Permanent Mission of Latvia to the UN office in Geneva from January 1998 to May 2003 and working as Secretary in the Press Service at the Embassy of France in Riga from January 1995 to December 1998. Sandra holds an Executive Certificate in Global Finance Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management (2012), an MA in Social Anthropology from Aberystwyth University, and has completed earlier education at Latvijas Universitate and Rigas Francu Licejs.
