Ric Thorpe serves as the Bishop of Islington for the Diocese of London since September 2015, overseeing church planting and supporting dioceses in church establishment efforts. As the Director of The Gregory Centre for Church Multiplication (CCX) during the same period, Ric Thorpe has also been active in consulting church leaders across London, the UK, and Europe. Previously, from January 2005 to September 2015, Ric Thorpe held the position of Church Planting Consultant and then Rector at St Paul's Shadwell, leading three congregations and facilitating church plants in various locations. Additional experience includes roles such as Sub-Dean for Tower Hamlets Deanery, Curate and Worship Leader at Holy Trinity Brompton, and early career positions at Unilever and Marconi Underwater Systems Ltd. Ric Thorpe holds a Doctor of Ministry in Church Planting from Asbury Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Theology from Wycliffe Hall, Oxford University, among other educational qualifications.
