Gillian Smith is a seasoned communications professional currently serving as the Director of Brand Strategy and Communications at The GroundTruth Project, where responsibility includes leading external communication efforts and public relations for flagship programs. Additionally, Gillian holds the position of Managing Editor at HerAgenda.com, curating editorial strategy for a national publication focused on women’s issues. With experience as a Course Instructor at Northeastern University, Gillian teaches courses in Organizational Communications, enhancing students' writing and communication skills. Previous roles include Director of External Communications and Media Relations at Suffolk University, Deputy Director for Media Relations at Cornell University, and positions in public relations and digital media at institutions such as Boston University School of Medicine and 7 NEWS, WHDH-TV. Gillian earned a Master’s degree in Journalism Innovation from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and a BFA in Journalism from Ithaca College.
