The GW Hatchet
Jessica Rich is a dedicated professional with a strong foundation in human services and social justice, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree at The George Washington University. As a Team Leader at Jumpstart since September 2022, Jessica exemplifies leadership while simultaneously serving as a Corps Member. In addition, Jessica has contributed as a Freelance Journalist for Street Sense Media since May 2024 and previously interned at the same organization in an editorial capacity. Other notable experiences include an internship with the Torture Abolition and Survivors Support Coalition International and a role as an intern and program coordinator at The Selam Institute. Jessica's early career also includes an internship with United Way of Pennsylvania. Educational achievements include a Regents High School Diploma and an International Baccalaureate Diploma from The Clinton School.

The GW Hatchet
The GW Hatchet, founded in 1904, is an editorially and financially independent newspaper serving The George Washington University community in downtown Washington, D.C. It is the second oldest newspaper in the city. The Society of Professional Journalists named The Hatchet the best non-daily college newspaper in the nation for 2003-2004, and again in 2006-2007. The newspaper is also a winner of the 2005 and 2008 Pacemaker and 2008 Online Pacemaker awards, given out by Associated Collegiate Press. The Hatchet counts five Pulitzer Prize winners among its alumni. The newspaper is produced by Hatchet Publications, Inc., an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. It is headquartered in a townhouse at 609 21st St. NW in the heart of Foggy Bottom.
