Jonathan Hobbs has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Jonathan began their career in 1976 as a member of the United States Army and served until 1979. Following that, they worked as a bartender at Martin's West from 1984 to 1993. In 1985, they joined Bank of America, where they held various positions ranging from Sales and Service Representative to AVP Sales and Service Retail Banking. Jonathan'stenure at Bank of America concluded in 2015, after which they joined The Harbor Bank of Maryland as an Assistant Vice President in 2016.

Jonathan Hobbs attended Catonsville Community College from 1989 to 1990, where they pursued a degree in law and banking for one year. In 1980, they enrolled in Howard Community College for two years, focusing on Business Administration and Management. Additionally, they completed a six-week program at a bartending school in the same year, earning a certificate in mixology. Jonathan completed their high school education at Stephen Decatur from 1973 to 1976, specializing in General Studies.
