Kimberly Simmons

Kimberly Simmons, LCSW-S, has a strong background in the mental health field with experience in various clinical roles. Kimberly is currently working as a Clinical Team Lead at The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD since March 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Telehealth Therapist at Telemynd starting in January 2021. From February 2016 to March 2021, Kimberly worked as a Behavioral Health Clinician at Memorial Hermann Health System, where they excelled in psychosocial assessments, clinical interviews, and treatment interventions.

In addition to their experience at Memorial Hermann, Kimberly also held a position as a Therapist at SUN Behavioral Houston from June 2017 to December 2017. During this time, they successfully managed therapy groups and conducted patient chart audits.

Before SUN Behavioral Houston, Kimberly worked as a Crisis Line Specialist at MHMRA of Harris County from December 2012 to February 2016, where they conducted crisis and psychosocial assessments and provided staff training. Prior to that, they served as a Social Services Clinician at Harris County Psychiatric Center (UTHealth) from May 2015 to December 2015, where they managed therapy groups and created psychoeducation materials.

Kimberly began their career as a New Hire Coordinator at the Houston Museum of Natural Science from May 2006 to December 2012, where they developed training materials and oversaw staff development.

Kimberly Simmons, LCSW-S, holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Houston, which they obtained from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology at the University of Houston from 2005 to 2012. Kimberly also has an additional certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor, granted by the Texas State Board Of Social Work Examiners in February 2016.
