Cherise Gyimah

Cherise Gyimah has a diverse work experience in the healthcare sector. Cherise currently works at NHS England as a Delivery and Policy Lead, focusing on community transformation workforce. Prior to this, they worked as a Clinical Mentor at CPPE and co-founded the English Deprescribing Network. Cherise also served as a Member of the Q community at The Health Foundation. Cherise has been an NICE MPC Associate at the NICE Medicines and Prescribing Centre since 2014, where they support the adoption of NICE guidance and promotes safe prescribing practices. Cherise held the position of Principal Pharmacist Community Health Services and LIMOS at University Hospital Lewisham before joining NHS England. As a Specialist Advisor (Pharmacist) at the Care Quality Commission, they provided expertise in their field. Cherise also worked as a Clinical Cell Triage Clinician at NHS England and served as a Steering Committee Member at PCPA. Their earlier experience includes being a Senior Care Home and Practice Support Pharmacist at Croydon NHS, where they played an integral role in medication reviews, medicines management in care homes, and training delivery.

Cherise Gyimah completed their undergraduate education from 1998 to 2002 at the University of Bath, where they earned a 2:1 degree in Masters of Pharmacy. Cherise went on to pursue further education at the same university, obtaining a degree in Independent Prescribing. Additionally, Cherise attended the University of Brighton, completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Community Pharmaceutical Healthcare and achieving a distinction.
