Joy Ngai has a diverse work experience in the healthcare sector. Joy is currently working as a General Practitioner at NHS Grampian since August 2021. Prior to that, they were a Q Community Member at The Health Foundation starting from May 2017. Joy also worked as a General Practice Specialty Trainee at NHS Education for Scotland from August 2018 to July 2021. Joy has experience as a General Surgery Registrar and Grampian Trainee Lead for the Division of Medicine and Unscheduled Care at NHS Grampian from August 2015 to July 2018. Joy was a Scottish Clinical Leadership Fellow at NHS National Services Scotland from August 2016 to July 2017. Additionally, Joy worked as a General Surgery Registrar at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde from August 2014 to July 2015 and as a Core Surgical Trainee at Health Education Yorkshire and the Humber from August 2012 to July 2014.
Joy Ngai completed their Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from UCL between 2004 and 2010. During this time, they also pursued an intercalated BSc in Medical Anthropology. In 2012, they enrolled at The University of Manchester and obtained a Master of Research (MRes) degree in Public Health, which they completed in 2016. Continuing their education, Joy Ngai then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General at Quantic School of Business and Technology from 2018 to 2019.
