Sarah Forster has a diverse work experience spanning different organizations and roles. Currently, they serve as the Director of the Scottish Child Law Centre. Before this, they worked with The Health Foundation as a member of the Q Community, where they focused on fostering continuous improvement in health and care through cross-sector collaboration.
Prior to that, Sarah held the position of Head of Service Design and Transformational Change at Aberlour - Scotland's children's charity. In this role, they led the organization's transformation program, employing a user-centered design approach to make meaningful and measurable changes to their services and systems. Sarah also facilitated the co-production of a new residential children's house with young people who have care experience.
Sarah's experience also includes being a Programme Manager at the Health and Social Care Academy of the Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland, where they strategically developed and built relationships for the institution. Sarah was involved in co-producing the Scottish Government Suicide Prevention Action Plan, ensuring the inclusion of voices from those affected by suicide.
Additionally, Sarah has served on the Policy Committee of SCVO and worked as a Social Enterprise Consultant at Community Enterprise Ltd. Sarah also held the position of Strategic Development Manager at Edinburgh Cyrenians and worked in the Drugs Policy Unit of The Scottish Government.
Sarah Forster attended the University of Nottingham from 2008 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in English Law. Prior to that, they studied at The University of Edinburgh from 2004 to 2008, earning a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (Hons) with a focus on Scottish Law. In addition, they attended Paris-Sud University (Paris XI) from 2006 to 2007, where they obtained a Diplome in French Law, specializing in French Law.
