Annette Burns

Annette Burns is a Research Officer at the Health Research Board since January 2023, leading evidence reviews for the Department of Health. Additional roles include Visiting Research Associate at Ulster University since September 2018, and Project Specialist at the Centre for Effective Services from October 2021 to January 2023. Annette served as Public Health Interventions Officer focusing on loneliness at the Institute of Public Health in Ireland from September 2018 to October 2021, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Department of Psychiatry at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland between January 2013 and September 2018. Annette holds a PhD in Population Health and Health Services Research from RCSI, complemented by an MSc in Applied Social Research from Trinity College Dublin and a BA in Psychology from the University of Galway. Prior roles include various research assistant positions and a travel advisor position, contributing to a diverse background in research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative analysis.
