Irene Castellano Pellicena is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in research and project management within the health and science sectors. Currently serving as an Ordinary Board Member and MCAA Ireland Chapter Chair with the Marie Curie Alumni Association since September 2022, Irene also holds the position of Project Officer in International Cooperation and Policy at the Health Research Board, overseeing Horizon Europe Health Cluster activities for Ireland. Prior roles include Scientific Project Officer at Science Foundation Ireland, where management of the SDG Challenge Programme was a key responsibility, and post-doctoral research positions at University College Dublin and University of Bradford, focusing on skin sciences and biomedical applications. Irene has a solid educational background, including a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Bradford and a Master’s in Molecular Medicine from Cranfield University.
