The Helianthus Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of human trafficking through survivor-centered advocacy, crisis stabilization, education, and community collaboration.

Founded in Beaufort, South Carolina, our mission is to empower survivors by connecting them with compassionate, trauma-informed resources that promote safety, healing, and long-term independence. We believe every survivor deserves dignity, hope, and the opportunity to rebuild their life at their own pace.

Through our Helios Recovery Program, we provide assistance with emergency needs, counseling referrals, advocacy, case coordination, relocation support, and connections to trusted community partners. We also work alongside law enforcement, healthcare providers, schools, social service agencies, and other nonprofit organizations to strengthen the local response to human trafficking and improve outcomes for survivors.

Education and prevention are central to our mission. We deliver professional training, community awareness presentations, and outreach initiatives that equip individuals and organizations to recognize the signs of human trafficking, respond appropriately, and help prevent exploitation before it occurs.

As we continue to grow, The Helianthus Project is working toward establishing Esther's House, a safe residential program designed to provide a secure, nurturing environment for youth survivors as they begin their journey toward healing and restoration.
