Roger Severino currently serves as the Vice President for Domestic Policy at The Heritage Foundation, a position held since February 2022. Previously, Severino was a Senior Fellow at the Ethics & Public Policy Center from February 2021 to January 2023 and held the role of Director at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services from March 2017 to January 2021. Severino has extensive experience in policy and law, having served as the Director of the DeVos Center for Religion and Civil Society at The Heritage Foundation from May 2015 to March 2017 and as a Trial Attorney at the United States Department of Justice from May 2008 to May 2015. Earlier in their career, Severino was Legal Counsel at The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty from July 2003 to May 2008. Severino holds a JD from Harvard Law School, an MSPPM in Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University, a BSBA from the University of Southern California, and has also studied at Delft University of Technology.
