Victoria Coates is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in national security and strategic studies. Currently serving as Vice President and Senior Research Fellow at The Heritage Foundation since August 2022, Coates has held various significant roles, including Distinguished Fellow in Strategic Studies at the American Foreign Policy Council from January 2022 to January 2023, and Senior Fellow at the Center for Security Policy from February 2021 to January 2022. Previous positions include President of the Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Senior Policy Advisor at the U.S. Department of Energy, and Deputy National Security Advisor for Middle Eastern and North African Affairs at the National Security Council during the Trump administration. Coates also worked as a Senior Advisor for National Security to Senator Ted Cruz and served as Consulting Curator at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Educational credentials include a PhD in Art History from the University of Pennsylvania and both an MA and BA in Art History from Williams College and Trinity College-Hartford, respectively.
