Perry Irving

Innovation Educator at The Hidden Genius Project

Perry Irving is currently a Genius Fellow Educator at The Hidden Genius Project. Prior to this, they were a Computer Science Teacher at West Oakland Youth Center from February 2019 to May 2019. There, they taught basics of Scratch and terminal. From September 2020 to November 2020, they were a Computer Science Teacher at Head-Royce School where they taught Scratch, which is a blocked based visual programming language, and explored computer science terminology and interactive project building. In June 2019, they were also a Computer Teacher at Head-Royce School teaching the basics of computer science, overviewing HTML & CSS and terminal basics. Perry Irving has also been recognized with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Congressional in September 2015.

Perry Irving's educational career includes completing a GED at Oakland High School and earning a degree from San Francisco State University.
