The Hillside School
Laura Gelsomini, MFA, is a dedicated visual arts educator currently serving as a Visual Arts Teacher at The Hillside School since August 2023. Gelsomini has extensive experience in higher education as an Associate Professor of Art at the University of Maryland Global Campus, where instruction focuses on painting and drawing since October 2020. Previous roles include Art Teacher at Salisbury Middle School, where the emphasis was on fostering student creativity and appreciation for art, and an Arts Instructor at Reading Area Community College, providing a range of foundational and advanced courses. Gelsomini also held adjunct positions at Northampton Community College and Marywood University. Educational credentials include a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Marywood University and a Bachelor of Arts in Fine and Studio Arts from the State University of New York at Oneonta.

The Hillside School is a K-8 independent school located in Macungie, PA. Our mission is to maximize the potential of the child with learning differences through excellence in education. Our teachers are experts in teaching students who are struggling to stay on grade level in all academic areas.
