Bhakti Hargunani began their work experience as a Freelance Writer at All the Fuss in December 2016. Bhakti then worked as a Volunteer at India Culture Lab in August 2017. In March 2017, they became a Freelance Writer at Storytap until November 2017. Bhakti joined ajanta news in November 2017 as a Content Writer until May 2018. Bhakti then worked as a News Editor at UnFound from May 2018 to October 2019. From October 2019 to September 2022, they worked at Republic World, first as a Senior Copyeditor and later as a Principal Editor. Currently, they are the Chief Subeditor at The Hindu since March 2023.

Bhakti Hargunani holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from Arts Science and Commerce jobs, which they obtained from 2015 to 2018. Bhakti also has a Master of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from Indira Gandhi National Open University.
