Kendric J Perkins is an experienced education specialist at The Historic New Orleans Collection since March 2018, and the founder of Kendric Jordan The New Orleans Public Historian, established in August 2016, offering curated tours, running tours, genealogy services, and Gulf South history consultations. Perkins is also the founder and instructor for Strategic Thoughts L3c, focusing on youth and community development since January 2011. Previous roles include chess instructor at Woodmere Elementary and district manager for the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission. Perkins has a diverse background, including serving as a site director at Partnership for Youth Development and an intern at Staylocal!, with a solid educational foundation consisting of a master’s in Urban Planning and a Juris Doctor degree focusing on land use planning and management from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. Prior military service includes work as an aviation electronic technician in the United States Marine Corps.
