Vasser Howorth

Vasser Howorth has a diverse work experience in various roles. From 2004 to 2005, Vasser worked as a Sales Associate at Beaucoup Books. From 2005 to 2010, they served as a Personal Assistant and Office Manager for Julia Reed. Vasser then joined Louisiana State University in 2010 as a Library Science Masters Student until 2012. They later joined The Historic New Orleans Collection in 2013 and held multiple roles, including Collections Processor/VCS Data Specialist until 2023. Currently, Vasser serves as the Head of Technical Services at The Historic New Orleans Collection.

Vasser Howorth completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature, with a major in English Language and Literature, from The University of the South. This educational achievement spans from 1999 to 2003. Subsequently, from 2010 to 2012, they pursued higher education in the field of Archives/Archival Administration, earning a Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) degree from Louisiana State University.

The Historic New Orleans Collection

The Historic New Orleans Collection is a museum, research center, and publisher dedicated to the study and preservation of the history and culture of New Orleans and the Gulf South region. General and Mrs. L. Kemper Williams, collectors of Louisiana materials, established the institution in 1966 to keep their collection intact and available for research and exhibition to the public. Over the 40 years since its founding, The Historic New Orleans Collection has added to its holdings and augmented the physical structures that house them, established ambitious publishing and exhibition schedules, and developed innovative educational programs.
