Rafael Guerrero's work experience includes roles in various organizations. Rafael is currently employed by NHS England as a National Adviser for Congenital Heart Service. Before that, they founded the Holomedicine Association and worked as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences, University of Liverpool. Rafael also has experience as an Alumni of Leadership at The King's Fund and as an Honorary Professor at Qingdao Women and Children's Hospital. Additionally, they served as the Chairman of the Committee for Congenital Cardiac Surgery at the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery in Great Britain and Ireland and worked as a Consultant Adult Congenital Cardiac Surgeon at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. Furthermore, they held the position of Chair of International Partnership at Alder Hey Children's Hospital and Qingdao Women and Children's Hospital. Rafael has also been a member of the Clinical Advisory Panel at NHSE Congenital Heart Disease and a member of the Advisory Board at Immerse UK-Innovate UK.
Rafael Guerrero attended Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos for their undergraduate degree in Medico Cirujano. Rafael later obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Leeds. Rafael also has certifications as a Fellow of the European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery (FETCS) and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons - Cardiothoracic Surgery (FRCS CTh). Additionally, they hold a certification as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (FRCSI).
