The Homer Hack was established in 2018. Its establishment was the result of a 14-year odyssey of misdiagnoses and invasive medical procedures, eventually leading to the discovery of the importance of the Homer and other scaffolding genes in cell function and neurological disease. The Homer Hack’s mission is to pave the way for advancements in research, diagnosis, and support. By joining forces with researchers, families, and communities, we aim to ‘Hack Homer’.

We believe that by uniting our strengths and resources, we can drive change that matters for people living with these associated conditions and their families. With your help, together we can create a world where understanding rare scaffolding gene variants leads to improved diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life and a brighter future for all.
