Ben Young

Ben Young is the Vice President of Student and International Affairs at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Ben has over 20 years of experience in engineering and management positions.

Ben started their career in 1997 as an Electronic Engineer at National Electronic & Watches Co. Ltd. Ben then moved to Chinese Television Network Ltd. (CTN) in September 1997, where they worked as a Master Control Engineer for four years. In 2001, they joined Kingsmith Airdata Ltd. as a System Engineer.

In October 2005, they joined Secure data Services Ltd. (UC Media division) as Senior Manager Engineering. Ben was responsible for technical support for windows server base companies, project handle of Outdoor display (LED) playback system, indoor display chain network system, management on media and playback system operation, and data feed analyzing and design for outdoor and indoor display.

Ben left Secure data Services Ltd. in August 2009 to join The Hong Kong Polytechnic University as Vice President of Student and International Affairs.

After completing their Bachelor of Engineering (Electronic & Electrical) at The University of Auckland, Ben Young pursued a career in electrical, electronic, and communications engineering technology/technician. Ben later obtained certification from PeopleCert in ITIL 4 Foundation and from Microsoft in MCSE.

Their manager is Jin-Guang Teng, President. They are on a team with Christopher Chao - VP, Research & Innovation, Albert P. C. Chan - Dean of Students, and Jiannong Cao - Dean of Graduate School.
