Allen Huang has a diverse range of work experience. Allen started their career as an Assistant Professor of Accounting at HKUST Business School in July 2009 and later became an Associate Professor in July 2017. Allen then took on the role of Associate Dean in September 2020, where they were responsible for overseeing various undergraduate programs. Allen also served as the Director of the Karen Lee Student Mentoring Center during the same time. Additionally, Allen worked as a Faculty Associate at HKUST Institute for Emerging Market Studies starting from July 2019. In April 2020, they became the Associate Director of the Center for Business and Social Analytics (CBSA) at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Allen also has experience as a Senior Associate at Lehman Brothers from 2007 to 2009. Furthermore, they hold the position of Editor at the Journal of Business Finance & Accounting from October 2020.
Allen Huang holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business, which they obtained from 2002 to 2007. Prior to that, they earned a B.S. in Electronics from Peking University, which they completed from 1997 to 2001. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including DELF Française B2 from Centre international d'études pédagogiques (CIEP) in 2018, and certifications in personal training, dinghy sailing, series 7, 63, 86, 87, and sport climbing.
