Michael D. Farren currently serves as the Assistant Director and Policy Fellow at The Hoover Institution, Stanford University, since March 2024. Prior to this role, Michael was a Senior Economist for the United States Congress Joint Economic Committee from May 2023 to March 2024 and worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University from June 2015 to May 2023, where research focused on the effects of governmentally-granted privilege on the economy and human well-being. Michael's academic background includes a PhD in Applied Economics, an M.S. in Civil Engineering, and a B.S. in Civil Engineering, all from The Ohio State University, where dissertation research addressed minimum wage issues.
