The Humsafar Trust
Dhruv Goenka serves as an Advocacy Officer at The Humsafar Trust, focusing on organizing advocacy and capacity-building activities throughout India, as well as coordinating CSR projects. Dhruv has been a Workshop Facilitator at A. H. Wadia School since 2017, designing workshop curricula and organizing various activities. Prior experience includes working as an Operations Executive at Muskurahat Foundation, where operational management systems were improved, and as an Outreach Officer at Rangoonwala Foundation, contributing to outreach activities for community engagement. Dhruv’s background also includes roles as a Student Social Worker at Anubhav Mumbai and Amcha Ghar, promoting organizational initiatives and assisting beneficiaries. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the College of Social Work, Nirmala Niketan, and a High School Diploma in Arts from Bhavans College.
The Humsafar Trust
The Humsafar Trust (HST) is a community-based organisation (CBO) working on health & human rights of LGBTQ since 1994. Through targeted HIV interventions, we currently reach out to 7500 Gay identified, Men Having Sex with Men (MSM) and TG/Hijra communities in Mumbai every year through its outreach work on physical sites, social media and online programs. We build capacities of other CBOs in 27 Indian states on HIV prevention, treatment, care & support. We currently work in the field of health, advocacy, research and capacity building of LGBTQ communities across India. The Humsafar Trust has been consulting with organizations on their diversity and inclusion needs since 2010. Through our outreach with corporate and other workplaces we have been helping create inclusive environments, support in incidents of discrimination, design policy change and have set up partnerships with over 40 organizations across India. Sensitization workshop is one of inclusion initiative through which we have engaged with organizations to promote SOGI inclusion at the workplace.
