Miguel Delaney began their journalism career in 2002 as a local journalist for Bray People. Miguel then worked as a Sub-editor for Sunday Tribune from June 2004 to December 2006, and later became a Football journalist at the same company from January 2007 to February 2011. From March 2011 to January 2016, they worked as a Football Journalist for various publications including Independent, ESPN, Sunday Independent, Irish Examiner, Evening Herald, and Blizzard. Miguel then became the Chief Football Writer at Sunday Independent from February 2016 to January 2017, before joining The Independent as their Chief Football Writer in 2017. Miguel has also been nominated for Irish sports journalist of the year in 2011.
Miguel Delaney attended St David's Co-Ed School at some point but did not obtain a degree or specify any field of study. Miguel later pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism at Technological University Dublin from 2000 to 2004. Miguel then furthered their education by completing a Master's degree in Politics at University College Dublin from 2004 to 2005.
