Rod Ardehali has extensive work experience in the field of journalism. Rod currently holds the position of Head of News at The Independent, a role they have been in since October 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a News Editor at Newsweek from October 2022 to October 2023. Rod has also held various positions at Daily Mail, including News Editor (digital and print) from February 2022 to August 2022, and News Editor at Mail+ from January 2020 to May 2022. Before joining Daily Mail, they worked as a News Reporter and Trainee Reporter at MailOnline. Additionally, Rod has worked as a US Reporter at DailyMail.com from January 2019 to October 2019. Rod has also had freelance roles as a Reporter at Newcastle Evening Chronicle, Events Reporter at The Frontline Club, and News Desk at The Observer and The Daily Mail. Rod started their career in 2014 as part of the Constituency Office of Rachel Reeves MP at the House of Commons.
Rod Ardehali obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Politics from the University of Leeds, where they studied from 2012 to 2015. Later, they pursued a Master's Degree in Newspaper Journalism at City, University of London from 2015 to 2016.
