Merritt Smail

Merritt Smail has been working in the publishing industry since 2016. Merritt began their career as an Editorial Intern at New Directions Publishing. In 2017, they held two roles as an Editorial Assistant at both Pegasus Booksellers & Publishing House and Daylight Books. From 2018 to 2020, they worked as a Sales and Marketing Coordinator at Mango Publishing. In 2020, they took on two roles as a Publicist at Chelsea Green Publishing and a Photographer at The Infatuation.

Merritt Smail completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Photography from the School of Visual Arts in 2016. In 2018, they obtained a Certificate in Publishing from Columbia University - Graduate School of Journalism in the Columbia Publishing Program. Most recently, in 2019-2020, they completed a course from edX in Science and Cooking: From Haute Cuisine to Soft Matter Science.
