Alan Shaw

Alan Shaw is the CEO & Chairman at The INS Companies. Alan has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry in various compliance and risk management roles.

Alan started their career in 1988 as a Senior Auditor at Abbey National Plc. Alan then spent 2 years as a Manager in FS Business Risk Consulting at EY before joining RBS as a Group Internal Audit Manager in 1998. Alan spent 2 years in this role before moving to Barclays as a Group Audit Manager in 2004. Alan spent 2 years at Barclays before joining Old Mutual plc as a Group Internal Audit Manager in 2006.

After spending 4 years at Old Mutual, Alan left to join BDO UK LLP as a Senior Manager in FS Risk & Regulatory Practice in 2010. Alan spent 4 years at BDO before joining Deloitte as a Senior Manager in FS Risk Advisory in 2014. Alan spent 2 years at Deloitte before moving to Moore Stephens UK as an Associate Director – Governance, Risk & Assurance in 2016. Alan spent 1 year in this role before joining Marsh as a Senior Compliance Officer in 2017. Alan left Marsh after 1 year to join Bupa Global as a Senior Compliance Business Partner (Regulatory Developments) in 2018. Alan remained in this role for 4 years before joining The INS Companies as President in January 2022.
