Richard Wainwright

Richard Wainwright PhD, MEng is an accomplished technical professional with extensive experience in data science, machine learning, and engineering. Currently serving as Technical Director and Principal Data Scientist at The Insights Family since June 2020, Richard has previously held roles as a Principal Data Scientist at Kids Insights and as a Machine Learning/Deep Learning PhD student at Sheffield Hallam University from September 2017 to April 2023. Prior to these positions, Richard worked as a PLC/Software Engineer at Avanti Conveyors Ltd, focusing on developing conveyor systems, as well as testing and demonstrating products for Pioneer DJ Europe Ltd. Richard also gained early experience as an Electronics Technician at Otter Controls and as a Waiter/Runner at Peruga Woodheys. Education includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science and a Master of Engineering in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, both from Sheffield Hallam University.
