The Inspired Teaching Demonstration School
Mara Duquette has a extensive background in program administration and community engagement roles. Currently, Mara serves as the Manager of Operations at The Inspired Teaching Demonstration School and as a Program Administrator at Inspired Teaching Residency. Previously, Mara held various positions at the Center for Inspired Teaching, Peace First, Jewish Vocational Services, Little Friends for Peace, and other organizations. Mara earned a B.S. in Political Communication from Emerson College.
The Inspired Teaching Demonstration School
At Inspired Teaching Demonstration Public Charter School, students learn through an academically challenging, standards-based curriculum that supports and builds their intellect, inquiry skills, imagination and integrity. Great teachers lead every classroom, instruction is individualized, and learning is joyful and engaging. Our school houses a Teacher Residency program in which Inspired Teaching Residents work towards full certification under the guidance and supervision of our master teachers. Students in each classroom benefit from the experience and expertise of Master Teachers and the energy and enthusiasm of new teachers. Once fully certified, our Inspired Teaching Residents graduate and go on to teach in other DC public and public charter schools. We’re striving to be a leader in improving the way teachers are trained and students are educated.
