John Hatchett is an experienced educator and coordinator with a robust background in engineering and mathematics. Currently serving as the Coordinator for the Academy for Engineering and Technology at The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research since August 2017, John also works as an Engineering Instructor at Danville Community College and as a Coaching Fellow at District C, both since August 2019. Prior experience includes roles as Faculty-in-Residence at Virginia State University and Assistant Director of AET at New College Institute, alongside teaching mathematics at Franklin County and Henry County Public Schools. John holds both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech, earned in 2008 and 2003, respectively.
