Jennifer Walsmith is the current director at The Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA). Jennifer has over 26 years of experience in the intelligence community and has been in their current position since 2017. Prior to their current role, they served as the senior acquisition executive at the National Security Agency from 2001 to 2016. In this role, they were responsible for all Agency procurement and acquisition globally, including business and financial responsibility over $10B a year. Jennifer also served as the Procurement Executive / Debarment Official and Science & Technology Executive. During their time at NSA, Jennifer rebuilt the Agency's acquisition and procurement functions from loss of authority to best in class. Under their leadership, all major programs were delivered on schedule and under budget for the last 5 years. Jennifer was also a Pathfinder for agile software development and IT in a box acquisition policy. In addition, they drove the development of socio-economic companies for success and capacity and led Trusted Foundry microelectronics efforts.
Prior to their role at NSA, Jennifer served as the Director Acquisition and Corporate Decision, Plans & Analysis at the National Reconnaissance Office from 1998 to 2001. Before that, they were the Simulations & Analysis P&L Leader & Team Lead at Science Application International Corporation from 1990 to 1998.
Jennifer Walsmith holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Jennifer is a Program Management Level 4 (Senior) from the Defense Acquisition University and an Acquisition Core (Executive) from the Defense Acquisition University. Jennifer also has an Executive Management from Harvard Business School Executive Education.
