Dennis Hesseling

Dennis Hesseling is a seasoned professional in energy regulation and competition law, currently serving as Head of Gas, Coal & Power at the International Energy Agency since July 2023. Previously, Dennis held the position of Head of Infrastructure, Gas & Retail Department at the European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators from December 2012 to July 2023, overseeing critical energy infrastructure and gas activities. Dennis's career includes roles such as Head of Unit Network sectors & Media at the Netherlands Competition Authority, Deputy Head of Regulation at the Dutch Energy Regulator, and Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company. An academic foundation in mathematics was established with a Ph.D. from Utrecht University, complemented by various executive education programs at prestigious institutions.
