Richard Simon

Richard Simon is an experienced energy modeller currently working at the International Energy Agency (IEA) since September 2022, focusing on industry sector analysis and decarbonisation. Prior to this role, Richard served as a principal consultant at Element Energy from January 2019 to September 2022, leading various projects in technoeconomic modelling and industrial decarbonisation. Richard's involvement with the Global Shapers Community included work on AI ethics, while volunteer efforts with the Royal Society of Chemistry contributed to organizing the UK Chemistry Olympiad. Richard's academic background includes a BA and MSci in Natural Sciences with a specialization in Atmospheric Chemistry from the University of Cambridge.
