Simon Thibault

Simon Thibault is an experienced professional in the field of critical minerals and electric vehicle supply chains. Currently serving as the EV Critical Materials Leader at General Motors since April 2023, Simon plays a key role in the development of projects in Quebec, particularly the Ultium CAM facility in Bécancour. Additionally, Simon is a member of the IEA Critical Minerals Expert Advisory Group and the scientific council of the Réseau MCS. Previous roles include Senior Director of the Battery Value Chain at Investissement Québec and various leadership positions within Propulsion Québec and the Global Battery Alliance. With a strong academic background in botany and biology from Université Laval, Simon's expertise spans regulatory affairs, public policy, and corporate social responsibility in the mining and battery sectors.
